If you want Facebook Recent Stories to display first, due to user outcry you can! Facebook has had a flurry of changes to their User Interface (UI) recently. One of the latest changes was removing the ability to see posts in chronological order…. you became at the mercy of the algorithm to decide which stories were the best. Users freaked out (they ALWAYS freak out but this one was justified) and the Big F has announced Facebook Recent Stories will be brought back.
Facebook Recent Stories layout
Your news feed will retain the new divided news feed format. This recent change displays one category of stories on top and another on the bottom. With the latest update that Facebook is rolling out you can choose to display Facebook Recent Stories at the top.
Change your settings to show Facebook Recent Stories at the top
If you want to see more recent stores instead of what Facebook’s algorithms considers your “top” stories the it’s simply to make the change. Note that they made the announcement via their blog last Wednesday, so by now the changes should be active for most users. If you don’t have it yet just hold tight, it can take a bit to roll out a change to 700 million users.
To enable Facebook Recent Stories and see things chronologically, simply hit the tiny “Sort” button in the upper right-hand corner of your feed and choose “Recent Stories First”.
