Google is on a roll lately rolling out feature after feature at a breakneck pace. Apparently, Google+ is about to get the addition of Events (a la Facebook style).
Spoiler alert… a bunch of people visiting Google Calendar are seeing an introduction to “Events in Google+”. While you could sort of make an event on G+ it was never elegant and came nowhere near the functionality provided by Facebook. It’s been a glaring miss on their social network. According to TheNextWeb Events will provide the Facebook-like ability to make and track events among Google+ circles. It will also give let organizers slot in a Hangout video chat in advance as well as pool together photos and videos associated with an event. The Google+ app for Android has even been showing an empty button that’s speculated to be a dedicated Events section. No word from the big-G yet as to when Events will go live but it can’t be long.
