How Content Marketing Compares to Traditional Advertising Infographic

February 18, 2013 by Paul Spoerry 3 Comments

Content Marketing is a growing and powerful way that businesses of all sizes can use to reach their customers. As compared to traditional advertising, the focus is not to “interrupt” the user with a brand message. With content marketing the goal is to educate the potential customer, engage with them, build a relationship, and draw them closer to the brand.

How are companies using Content Marketing?

To implement a Social Media strategy, the types of tactics being used by businesses include:

  • Social Media (79%)
  • Article Posting (78%)
  • In-person Events (62%)
  • eNewsletters (61%)
  • Case Studies (55%)
  • Blogs (51%)
  • White Papers (43%)
  • Webinars/Webcasts (42%)

You do not need to know HTML to write on a blog. You can generally purchase a theme, upload it, and be done with the site design. Now if you want to customize it, then you need to know how to code… you’d need to know HTML, CSS, PHP, and MySQL. But for just writing content it’s all via WYSWIG. I’d recommend creating a free blog on http://wordpress.com/ and checking it out there.

Hi there! I know this is sort of off-topic but I needed to ask.
Does managing a well-established blog like yours take a massive amount work?
I amm rand new too writing a blog but I do write iin my diary on a
daily basis. I’d like to start a blog so I will be able to share my personal experience and feelings
online. Please let me know if you have any kind of ideas or
tips for new aspiring blog owners. Appreciate it!

I really depends on how often I post. Just having it online and maintaining it doesn’t take a lot of time once it’s up and running… but articles can take a while.
