We do along these lines in my house (my kid is a little old for dino's animating at night); we have a big double vanity in the master bath with a huge wall length mirror. So we have dry erase markers and every couple weeks the scene changes. At the moment there are dinosaurs… that are dropping bombs (the flying dinos of course), have missile launchers, etc.
What do you do to keep a kids sense of wonder and creativity alive?
