This. This is a great representation of a few things:
1: dehumanizing anyone on the right (and I live in a conservative area, and none of these people would let someone starve on a personal basis)
and
2: the media and left have totally got control of the narrative here, and will never ever be held accountable for human trafficking and the resultant deaths.
Adonis Inman says
Why should the media be held accountable for human trafficking?
Adonis Inman says
…or the left too, I guess.
Christof Harper says
you are right. it is the republican right that has arranged all this.
Adonis Inman says
How am I right? It was a question..
Christof Harper says
The media in general presents a portion of known truth and deliberately excludes from reporting things like the months pregnant planning that went into getting this "crisis" off the ground.
The left, in general, has a track record of doing this for political gain. Such as the Clinton mass citizenships. They are complicit in, where not actively increasing, the human trafficking that is resulting in the large number of deaths due to the illegal immigrants trains. (Not railroads) And equally guilty in staging the scene to rip increasing numbers of people out of whatever stability they may have had.
Human trafficking to manufacture a pseudo "humanitarian crisis"

Thanks

Yeah, dehumanizing the right… that's the plan, you busted us. Never mind the fact these are kids fleeing countries at the top of the human rights watch list for their rampant crime and impunity for human rights abuses.

+Christof Harper Mr. Harper, there is pandering going on. But it is going on on both sides. Republicans went apopletic at the suggesting that E-verify/I9 be made mandatory, so that employers would be held accountable for hiring undocumented workers. The national Chamber of Commerce, and the local chapters, (overwhelmingly conservative organizations when it comes to fiscal policy), came out hard against it. The complaint was that the verification was too burdensome on employers. And the immigrants rights advocates (who seem, in my view, to be advocating having no borders at all) on the left went apoplectic right along with the conservatives. Their complaint was that the EVerify system was deeply flawed. So instead of working together to make the Everify system easier to use and more accurate, the plan to make it mandatory was stalled by both sides. I do not blame anyone for crossing into the United States illegally in order to make money to send back home to a struggling family. I blame gutless law makers who are so busy pandering that they won't lead us into a system where there are no jobs for undocumented workers once they get here because the Everify system is being used by every employer, including the individual households that hire gardeners and baby sitters and maids. If there were no jobs, illegal immigration would dry up fairly quickly. In fact, during the economic recession it dropped quite a bit.
But what is going on here with the kids is not about that. Progressives warned years ago that the war on drugs was a huge mistake that would have huge blowback. It was during the war on drugs that the federal government started doing a lot more deportations of criminal illegal immigrants. Back in their home countries these thugs set up gangs and cartels just like they did here. In addition the U.S.'s own spy agency got deeply involved in the governments of some of these countries. Now all that meddling is leading to situations where gangs are extorting families by threatening to kill or kidnap their children and the parents are choosing to send their children away. This is blowback from U.S. policies that precede the current congress and current president by years and years.

Interesting… and staying civil. This is a good thing. A nation with no controls over it's borders ceased to be a nation. This "crisis" was manufactured by the Feds. It's the result of a lawless administration that doesn't see the need to enforce passed laws. The "amnesty" that these kids are trying to get is a misreading of the child trafficking laws. The worst thing about illegal immigration is the effect it has on the unemployed and underemployed. With black unemployment at record highs, perhaps we don't need more undocumented workers to provide services at below standard wages.
Paul Spoerry says
+Adreana Langston I wish I could plus 1 your comment more.
+David Traynor Border security, totally legit (though we need a faster path to citizenship). I'm not sure what illegal immigration has to do with this conversation though… these are children.

Thomas Wrobel says
Everyone is created equal. No one should inherit sins of their parents, or by random place of birth.
The only important thing is that people growing up in a country contribute back to it. The assumption that native born are somehow genetically "better" at that is just wrong on a very fundamental level.
Paul Spoerry says
LOL…. true +Thomas Wrobel and the only NON-immigrants were the Native Indians.
And again… these are children we're talking about.
David Traynor says
Many are gang members and there is no screening for diseases. Many of our border control officers are now getting infected and spending their time doing child care instead of controlling the border. Also, what about those who are in line to do this legally? Is this not unfair to them? When Ellis Island was the reality there was no government subsidy for those who had no skills to bring to the marketplace. Now folks show up and we as taxpayers support them. This was not the case before the welfare state.
