I love how the Internet has improved people’s grammar far more then any English…

July 2, 2014 by Paul Spoerry 12 Comments

I love how the Internet has improved people’s grammar far more then any English teacher has. If you write "your" instead of "you’re" in a English class all you get is a red mark…. Mess up on the Internet just once, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I like that they pick the easy mistakes instead of really diving into the whole clarity and negative words verses positive words. I'd love to have someone explain in detail the difference between telling and showing, preferably by example. Except that is hard and you would have to do it so many times it would get old very fast.

+Jacob Santos is correct in that it has improved spelling, not grammar.

I think there is an unwritten law of physics that when someone corrects someone else's spelling and / or grammar on the Internet, they will introduce spelling, grammatical or punctuation errors in their own post.

'than any English teacher' not 'then any English teacher'.
Sorry. Trying to help further prove your point 🙂

sorry to disagree but it looks to me like social media with its shortened versions of words and internet-speak have changed the standards of grammar in this particular forum.
