Post Editor for Google+ – a Chrome Extension for formatting Google+ posts

Google+ doesn't offer a ton of formatting options for your posts and the ones it does have you have to remember the markup to use. This isn't so big a deal for those of us who use it regularly or have been around since the beginning. However, it comes up often when I talk with new or infrequent users. So I created a Google Chrome extension called 'Post Editor for Google+' to help!

Post Editor for Google+ adds formatting buttons to the bottom of the post box so you can easily style your posts. It also includes a variety of symbols that you can automatically inject into your post.

You can grab the extension from the Chrome Web Store: http://goo.gl/ywkWj3

Right now it works with the main post box. If enough people find it useful I can extend it to work with the comment fields as well.

Correct +Mario Lombardo it doesn't work in the comment box, though that's a feature everyone asks for! It's on my ToDo for when I have spare time, but that's in short supply these days. The code is all on GitHub if anyone would like to add that.

+Paul Spoerry Thanks. Another feature you could consider is the ability to add your own symbols to the list or stuff like 😛 , 🙂 or the 'look of disapproval', etc.

But it gets more and more complicated for an average user…! Giving options is increasing complexity and I believe the trend is towards making it simple… +Google+ just a feedback by average user.

+Paul Spoerry  Thanks for sharing this with us! I've been around since the beginning but don't know how to do this so I'm going to go grab the APP! Thanks for telling us it exists! It's always hard to know what's out there when there are thousands of APPS!

Righton +Laurie Carlson! I know many who've been around for a long time but just haven't used formatting because they didn't always remember the formatting codes. So… glad this helps!
