  2. I think you might be miss-understanding what he means. He probably ment this as "people that don't take medicine eliminate themselves from the gene pool". Hence, natural selection.

  4. +Torin Riley if you have children abd then die, you are not out of the gene pool because your genes, and your religious beliefs are already infused in your children. That's what he's saying. However, without the parent's influence, and with the clear evidence that prayer isn't as effective, you are giving your kids a real chance to get better, so that's a noble sacrifice.

  12. I can never understand the whole refuse all medical science and rely on religious prayer thing. Why not get all the help you can. Pray to your god and enlist all that modern medical science and afford you.
    I can see these folks after they expire from their illness. They come face to face with their maker and say, "Lord, I prayed night and day for you to send me deliverance from my suffering, yet you ignored my call and let me die". Then their god will say, "I did send you deliverance, in the form of doctors and nurses and medical scientists, all there to cure you of your ills, but you chose not to hear my voice working through them. So you left me the only other way of delivering you from suffering, I brought you home to me."

  18. I use to go to a church where this member pride herself for never going to the doctors. I mean never. Not even as a child. She was born at home. She would testify in church how blessed she was for never having to ever visit a doctors office. She died at 54 due to cancer.

    I never said swallow anything and everything they give to you. I would hope you have a brain and take an active interest in your ailment. Enough of an interest to know all about the meds your doctor is giving you and procedures he is suggesting you undergo. I mean if you don't, then I'd say, that's natural selection at work.
    BTW, if you rely on prayer alone, nothing is not the worse that can happen, it's death (of course maybe an early entry into the kingdom of heaven was what you were after anyway so…….there ya go). 😁

  31. As a Christian, I think it makes no sense to take no medicine on the idea that God will just take care of it. God is all powerful, but we also have some power too. God doesn't control every aspect of your life. Your choices have an impact on your future. Not only God's. So just take the medicine! And please, pray also. Prayer works, but you need to do something. Did you pray for Africa to get more food? Then do something about it. God won't snap his fingers and make a million loafs of bread appear. God didn't send you to Earth to do nothing and expect Him to do it all. He wants you to help the world as well. You have the power.

    If prayer helps, and medicine helps, there is NO reason to choose just one. Do BOTH.

  32. It also makes no sense that some of us Christians will deny anything that has to do with science. God doesn't make gravity less true. Gravity doesn't make God less true. God doesn't make the atomic theory less true. The atomic theory doesn't make God less true. Science and religion can work with each other. Do you know why science can't actually prove God wrong and religion can't actually prove science wrong? It is because they DONT contradict each other.

You aren't eating and you eventually die. Did you die because you weren't faithful enough or praying good enough. No. It is because they were stupid and didn't eat.

Let's hold off and pray.Tell me you're going to " pray" when you have a deathly sick family member and take them to the hospital or skip medical intervention for some diagnoses. .Give me a break.     +West Kagle​ expressed it pretty well in the last paragraph of his post; God gives us people (docs, nurses, etc.) through whom He works healing and miracles. But science and medicine are still limited, and when all other options are gone, there's nothing wrong with turning oneself over to the One–Jesus Christ–who created everything out of nothing.

    You can pray but the efficacy of prayer has never been reliably reproduced, whereas the efficacy of medications can be reproduced time and time again.

  45. +Tim Sz That's such a narrow and limited view of the world; unless you also want to accept Zeus, Shiva, or the boatloads of other made up people. Also… I always find it funny when people attribute creation to Christ when Genesis states it's god. And yes, I know the whole word trickery that people do saying John said it was the Word, but that the word is god, and that god was Jesus. But seriously… when your texts are so wonky that in one section (OT) they clearly say it's god, but in another (NT) they'll make Jesus equivalent with god, but then if you bring up how the god of the OT was a fucking genocidal dick people will be all like "oh but that's the OT… the NT changed the old laws…" blah blah blah. So Jesus is all lovey, but he's also god, but if so he certainly didn't turn the other cheek back in the OT days. That's seriously one of the most nonsensical books ever written.

    First, I received from Jesus the Living Son of God forgiveness from my sin, freedom from using and dealing drugs, from lust, deceive, selfishness, covetous, lies, anger, pride, etc, etc, etc.

    But i can not forget something big that the Lord did in our family. In 2010 my daughter was healed from Vesicoureteral Reflux which requiered kidney surgery!

I'm a Christian by choice and through faith, but I can't be so narrow minded to think that there aren't other beliefs/religions/faiths that aren't just as valid. Are we so egocentric and sociocentric that it's impossible to accept another perspective perhaps? Or perhaps we are just that: egocentric. What are we all doing if not to satisfy our own needs whether it be consciously or subconsciously?

    +Tammi Marez See now I can dig your perspective. I think when someone takes their faith and knows that it's their choice and doesn't make statements of exclusive fact around the matter that it's all good. If a particular belief system helps you get through your day, or if brings you community and support, or whatever… then cool. It's really not fair to claim it as the one and only truth when it's literally not possible to back up that claim. There is no proof of god, any of them, so it has to be a thing of faith. While I don't choose to have faith in that way, if somebody does it's cool with me. I do have issue with when people make claims that their particular version of belief is the one and only because it creates a situation where it's "us" and everybody else. It becomes exclusionary. Kuddos to you for owning your faith while staying open to others having a different version, or none at all.

    She had Secondary VUR(Unilateral-bilateral and I-5 Grades of VUR) that REQUIRED surgery.

    There was three types of surgical procedure available for my girl's VUR: endoscopic, laparoscopic, and open procedures.

    The Dr. who attended her was shocked! He's a witness too, not only me.

    Now, if you does not believe the little things, how do you believe the big ones?

    This is so tender, such lovingkindness, such longsuffering, this is a beautiful verse. The LORD remember us and pity us and worry about us when we go astray. Mine was 2.5 months premature and was told he would likely not be able to breath on his own, if he could at all, that we wouldn't be able to hold him, etc. That said, I've yet to hear anything supernatural or that couldn't be explained by science for the little things so there is nothing that would require me to believe it for the larger (more macroscopic) things.

    Numbers 21:4-9 – has people bitten to death by snakes

    And it's not just the OT god (cuz I know that's a convenient escape by believers that those were the old laws, like that somehow makes genocide acceptable, that were overwritten with the new law in the NT). In Acts 5:1-10 he offs somebody for trying save money on some land he was selling. Then in Acts 12:23 he has people struck down by angels for not praising him (seriously?!?!). Then there is all of Revelation where god does into detail of sending the four horsemen, a boatload of angels, and seven plagues and brings on an apocalypse where everybody left standing burns in a lake of fire.

    And don't get me started on Sodom and Gomorrah. That's the most fucked up story of righteousness if I ever heard of one. The one righteous guy gold is going to let live, has angels show up to tell him to get out of town, and the crowd wants to screw the angels (this is what people use to justify looking down on homosexuality) but this super righteous dude offers up his virgin daughters to the crowd. Yeah… super righteous guy there. Fast forward a little and Lot's fire is turned to Ash FOR LOOKING BACK. Fast forward a little more, the righteous man allowed to flee gets so hammered drunk that his daughters have sex with him and get pregnant but he "doesn't remember it". I'm always fascinated how people claim the good parts without also accepting all the horrific things that by today's standard we would find atrocious.

    GOD did not destroy them because they didn’t deserve it, there was only violence and corruption in the Earth. Just as we see today, in our world. So many people are suffering today as the consequence of sin.

    More and more we see so much cruelty in our world today especially against little innocent children, some times at the hand of their own parents.

    Genesis 6:5 And God saw that the wickedness of man [was] great in the earth, and [that] every imagination of the thoughts of his heart [was] only evil continually. 6:6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. 6:7 And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. 6:8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. 6:11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. 6:12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. 6:13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

    1Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God [is] faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear [it].

    GOD destroyed the World with the flood, but not before giving them warning through HIS servant Noah, during many years he announced to the people that this was going to happen.

    They also had the visual sign, they saw Noah day after day working in the construction of the Ark.

    They did not stop their corruption, they did not repent of their evil acts, nor did they make plans to escape the flood.

    Genesis 6:14 Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch.

    They also had the visual sign of the animals getting in the ark. They had plenty of opportunity to repent and be saved, but they chose not to.

    GOD saved those that accepted salvation, more HE could not do. HE could not force people to want salvation, this would be against everything GOD stands for, LOVE, GOD is LOVE.

    This was the tenth plague, not the first, Pharaoh had plenty opportunity to repent and let GOD’s people go, but instead he refused to do so.

    It was thanks to one of their ancestors, that Egypt had survived seven years of famine some time earlier by the HAND of GOD through his servant Joseph, yet instead of gratitude, they slaved the people for so many years, and they were mistreated.

    When Moses was born, they had to hide him, because the Egyptians killed so many of the Hebrew children, only because they were increasing.

    Pharaoh was proud saying that he did not know GOD and that he was not going to obey GOD, even after being tested ten times. This is why Egypt represents the atheist, in prophecy, that don’t believe in GOD and don’t fear GOD.

    It was a great wonderful work that the LORD did delivering HIS children from the hands of satan’s children. HE is going to do it again in our generation. Praise the LORD!

    Leviticus 10:1 And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not. 10:2 And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD. 10:3 Then Moses said unto Aaron, This [is it] that the LORD spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace.

    Nadab and Abihu were Aaron’s sons. Aaron was going to serve as High Priest. The levites, they had been chosen to serve in the Sanctuary. They were to be leaders among GOD’s people. They could not be disrespecting the Sanctuary like that because it had just been introduced. If they being the first generation to serve were going to use their own kind of fire instead of doing what the LORD had instructed them to do. If GOD did not do that, then the other priests would have kept doing whatever they wanted. They had to learn from the very beginning that the wages of sin is death.

    During the 400 years that they were in Egypt they learned all the abominations from Egypt, they had to learn how to worship GOD, and stop serving satan.

    Numbers 11:1 And [when] the people complained, it displeased the LORD: and the LORD heard [it]; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the LORD burnt among them, and consumed [them that were] in the uttermost parts of the camp. 11:2 And the people cried unto Moses; and when Moses prayed unto the LORD, the fire was quenched. 11:3 And he called the name of the place Taberah: because the fire of the LORD burnt among them. 11:4 And the mixed multitude that [was] among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat? would God that all the LORD'S people were prophets, [and] that the LORD would put his spirit upon them! 11:30 And Moses gat him into the camp, he and the elders of Israel. 11:31 And there went forth a wind from the LORD, and brought quails from the sea, and let [them] fall by the camp, as it were a day's journey on this side, and as it were a day's journey on the other side, round about the camp, and as it were two cubits [high] upon the face of the earth. 11:32 And the people stood up all that day, and all [that] night, and all the next day, and they gathered the quails: he that gathered least gathered ten homers: and they spread [them] all abroad for themselves round about the camp. 11:33 And while the flesh [was] yet between their teeth, ere it was chewed, the wrath of the LORD was kindled against the people, and the LORD smote the people with a very great plague. 11:34 And he called the name of that place Kibrothhattaavah: because there they buried the people that lusted. 11:35 [And] the people journeyed from Kibrothhattaavah unto Hazeroth; and abode at Hazeroth.

    Those people were so ungrateful, they had just been delivered from Egypt, and they kept complaining instead of being grateful.

    The LORD could see what we cannot, if they were doing that after seeing GOD’s Power against Pharaoh in order that they could be delivered and the Miracle of opening the Red Sea, that they were able to cross on dry land, and were protected from Pharaoh’s army that were pursuing them, and they were no longer slaves, but free men, all they had to do was to trust in the LORD, if HE had done all of that for them, would HE not keep them the rest of the way?

    They would have kept doing worse things the rest of the way, that would have hurt the rest of the people, and would have get the rest of the people in revolt. These were half a million men, not counting women and children. The LORD had to do something to make the rest of the people behave so that they could survive and not kill each other.

    Lusting after food is a great sin, grave consequences come because of this sin, this is what got Eve to disobey. Lusting after food is what makes so many people to be sick. If GOD had not done that early on, the people would have kept lusting for food, instead of eating what GOD provided for them that was healthier for them to eat.

    Their covetousness was very great, they stayed two days collecting those quails, such great ambition, where were they going to keep them? because they had no refrigerators, their ambition was much too great, and their sin even greater.

    Numbers 16:49 Now they that died in the plague were fourteen thousand and seven hundred, beside them that died about the matter of Korah.

    All these people rebelled against GOD, they wanted to take Moses and Aaron’s leadership from them, and they wanted to be the leaders, they would not only have kept on doing it but they would have made other people to do the same. GOD had to stop this, they could not be allowed to do whatever they wanted.

    We know that GOD’s judgment was just, when we see that Korah’ sons did not stay by him, and they later wrote Psalms 46, which is a beautiful Psalms. They survived, GOD did not kill them.

    Numbers 25:9 And those that died in the plague were twenty and four thousand.

    Those people were unfaithful, they went to worship idols with the women of Moab, when they were almost arriving at the Promise Land, they were tricked by Balaam, the false prophet, who wanted to curse GOD’s people, but because he couldn’t do it, he tricked them to commit fornication with those women and eat of the meat offered to idols.

    They were suppose to be a special holy people so that other people would learn from them and would want to worship GOD, but instead they joined them in their abominations.

    Again, GOD had to do this or else they would have been soon corrupted just like the people before the flood were.

    GOD wanted to prepare a holy people, HIS people, HIS seed. But instead they were ridiculing GOD dishonoring GOD, and they were supposed to be preparing to conquer Jericho, instead they were mingling with the sinful people of the land that hated them and wanted them cursed.

    Those people were not HIS people, they had joined the enemy, they had betrayed GOD, and joined satan, those people were the seed of satan.

    Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

    Again the same ungrateful people complaining because they didn’t want to eat manna, the HEAVENLY healthful free food that GOD provided for them every day.

    In Egypt they had to work very hard, they were not free men, and they were mistreated, they even killed their children, when Moses was born, they had to do whatever they were told, here all they had to do is eat this healthy manna, and they didn’t want it, they were thinking that it was better for them to have continued to be slaves. They were so ungrateful.

    But GOD provided a way for them to be healed if they looked at the serpent of brass. This represented JESUS CHRIST, HE was made sin and crucified on the CROSS so that we can be made righteous, when we look only to HIM and be saved.

    Acts 5:1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, 5:2 And kept back [part] of the price, his wife also being privy [to it], and brought a certain part, and laid [it], at the apostles' feet. 5:3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back [part] of the price of the land? 5:4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. 5:5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things. 5:6 And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried [him] out, and buried [him]. 5:7 And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in. 5:8 And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much. 5:9 Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband [are] at the door, and shall carry thee out. 5:10 Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying [her] forth, buried [her] by her husband.

    Covetousness is a great sin, so is lying. Again, they were starting the Christian Church, everyone that had the means were selling their properties and sharing with those less fortunate and for the Church.

    No one forced these people, Ananias and his wife Sapphira to sell and make a pledge to the church, but they in their selfishness after making the pledge, coveted the money for themselves, and had second thought, and they both agreed, and instead of saying the truth that they had changed their mind and that they were going to keep some of the money, they lied, they said that they were giving all the money from the property sold, when they were not. They wanted to receive the praise of the church for their contribution and also keep the money.

    This was no way to start a holy church, with lies, how could they draw people to GOD with people like that?

    This people later were ready to give their own lives for CHRIST, money, property was nothing. Many were killed sharing the gospel.

    Acts 12:23 And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.

    Acts 12:21 And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them. 12:22 And the people gave a shout, [saying, It is] the voice of a god, and not of a man.

    This man was sitting in his throne uplifting himself as if he was GOD, in the place of GOD, and the people were worshiping as if he was GOD. This is the same man that had John the Baptist beheaded.

    Matthew 14:3 For Herod had laid hold on John, and bound him, and put [him] in prison for Herodias' sake, his brother Philip's wife. 14:4 For John said unto him, It is not lawful for thee to have her. 14:5 And when he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet. 14:6 But when Herod's birthday was kept, the daughter of Herodias danced before them, and pleased Herod. 14:7 Whereupon he promised with an oath to give her whatsoever she would ask. 14:8 And she, being before instructed of her mother, said, Give me here John Baptist's head in a charger. 14:9 And the king was sorry: nevertheless for the oath's sake, and them which sat with him at meat, he commanded [it] to be given [her]. 14:10 And he sent, and beheaded John in the prison. 14:11 And his head was brought in a charger, and given to the damsel: and she brought [it] to her mother.

    All those people that GOD destroyed were the seed of satan. They were not GOD’s people.

    The everlasting gospel is the work of CHRIST in producing two classes of worshipers by a three-step prophetic process. This is clearly seen in the entire HOLY BIBLE from Genesis to Revelation from Cain and Abel, to those that will receive the mark of the beast and those that will receive the seal of GOD.

    I pray that we all pass the test, and receive the Seal of GOD and be granted eternal life. In the HOLY Name of JESUS I pray. AMEN AMEN AMEN
