An overwhelming majority of Americans oppose the toxic influence of money in politics. But a conservative majority on the Supreme Court has systematically eroded barriers to the 1% buying elected officials.
Now we have a major opportunity to fight back.
On September 8, the Senate is scheduled to vote on a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United and other toxic Supreme Court decisions that have opened the floodgates to unlimited political spending by corporations.1
We expect stiff opposition from Republicans. But with control of the Senate hanging in the balance in November, this is an important moment to force each senator to go on record in support of overturning Citizens United — or publicly sell out to their corporate backers. We need to speak out now to make it clear that millions of us across the country will be watching as the Senate votes next month.
Tell the Senate: Overturn Citizens United.
Sign the petition: Citizens United
I just signed this petition telling the Senate to pass a constitutional amendment to overturn Citizens United, which it will vote on on September 8. I think you should, too: {LINK}

Oh wow I didn't even realize this was a thing. And it's a good thing!
YOU MEAN TO TELL ME THERE ARE A NOTICEABLE GROUP OF POLITICIANS THAT WANT THE GOVERNMENT TO WORK FOR THE PEOPLE?
Someone pinch me.
Lawrence Hults II says
why would anyone in the senate(or the house, or elsehwere) overturn anything that is so key to their personal wealth, power, and politics?
it's already the fox guarding the hen house, and we're just the egg layers
Jeff Baker says
Not only do we need to sign petitions, but, we also need to make it clear to candidates that we strongly support the constitutional amendment. This includes asking them about an amendment at candidate forums, and voting for the candidate who backs a strong amendment to overturn Citizens United. If several candidates lose their seats because they don't back an amendment, the others will quickly come around.
