Before and after tonight’s CNN special, “Atheists: Inside the World of Non-believers,” American Atheists will air its first-ever national TV commercial. The spot is tame compared to some of their billboards (http://goo.gl/Zb3C6s), particualry in comparison to the recent Ron Reagan (yes, the son of Ronald Regan… hollowed be they name) Freedom From Religion Foundation ad: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7INIhD9P0Pw.
The CNN special airs tonight and I personally think they've framed it to be something controversial by ending it with someone saying, "we're strong… we're in your face…". The reality is most aren't; I've yet to have an atheist knock on my door asking to spread any sort of message. I have to question their timing too… are they creating a ruckus just in time for ?

Those billboards are not gonna win anyone over, IMO.
Paul Spoerry says
I agree. Though I don't personally find them any less offensive than the church billboards that are EVERYWHERE here in the Midwest.
Scott Duensing says
What? The giant "REPENT!" signs don't inspire you?
SUGAR XYLER says
+Sarah Rios ~ The billboards are not to " win" people, it's to inspire people with like minds! (*_~)
Sarah Rios says
They could have worded them better for a positive "inspiring" response. I was only inspired to avoid the group, and I'm a fellow atheist.
The commercial was much better.
Paul Spoerry says
I find atheists don't get very far with "…but you're dumb". Not that I'm above throwing jabs at cloud dwelling god or imaginary friends if met with an equally assholic religious person but unless push comes to shove I think logic works better than a word-punch to the face.
