Family plots to teach child a lesson about Stranger Danger with fake kidnapping

Police: 6-year-old boy ‘kidnapped’ for being too nice to strangers
A 6-year-old boy in Missouri endured an emotional staged kidnapping because his family thought he was being too nice to people he didn’t know, police say.

Ho.ly.Crap. Somebody save this child. Family members plotted to have a six-year-old boy kidnapped to teach him a lesson on stranger danger because he was “too nice” to people.

This is so disturbing. They asked a co-worker to pretend kidnap him. The guy pulls a gun on the kid, said he would never see his mother again and that he would be “nailed to the wall of a shed.” He then bound the boy’s hands and feet with plastic bags, then covered the child’s face with a jacket and dumped him in his own basement.

Then he and the boy’s aunt walked down into the basement, pulled the victim’s pants down, and began shouting that he could be sold into sex slavery. The aunt chastised the child for not trying to resist her or his captor.

Just… wow. That's a special kind of stupid. Here's hoping that kid is placed with a proper family that will raise him without resorting to traumatizing him in order to get a point across.

I just want to give the little boy a hug. I couldn't help but imagine my 5 year old in that scenario and the everlasting trauma that would follow.

What the fuck is wrong with people!?
