roduced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the video shows just how dangerous fireworks can be when handled improperly. The disturbing video demonstrates the possibly disastrous scenarios on dummies, using everything from sparklers to professional aerial fireworks, which the commission says cause grievous injuries when used illegally by inexperienced consumers.

The beginning of the video is a (sorry, government dude) boring warning about how fireworks — though considered integral to celebrating Independence Day — are actually very dangerous.
Then, at one minute and seven seconds, the commission shows how serious they are about the warning.
Sparklers are actually hotter than propane torches. Bottle rockets appear custom made to take out eyes. A cherry bomb blows the gloved hand right off a mannequin. A quick-match fuse completely obliterates a watermelon. Forget watching the fruit blow to pieces: In the first angle, the explosion is so powerful that it appears to cause the watermelon to evaporate into a cloud of smoke.
Reconsidering your plans for this evening yet? If not, there's more. The video's demonstrations of "professional grade" fireworks show that misusing a device will basically kill you.
LOL… ok so

Fun fact I like to tell people- sparklers burn hot enough to melt gold.
Yeah… Sometimes I wonder how those are still legally sold and why we insist those are the 'safe' ones to give toddlers!?
Doh…….that's gonna leave a mark.
