One of the more annoying Facebook 'features' is the fact that no matter how many times I tell it I want the feed to show the Most Recent they always flip it back to Top Stories (I assume because they know what I actually want to see despite telling it over and over I want most recent!?).

Facebook only shows you what they want you to see!
Use Chrome and the FB Purity extension…you can control a zillion things about Facebook and make it how you want.
I'm with you. . It is why i am on google plus more…
+Lee Keels I've tried those in the past but they never seem to stay up to date. I'll look up FB Purity though and maybe give it a whirl.
Even when you choose that, it's truly not by date, you'll still get some posts inter mixed and of course the "FB filtering" is always in effect, there's no way to "show me everything, by date" like old FB, back when it was usable.
Yeah that's true +Travis Owens, they're always doing some level of filtering.
Hi people talk about Fakebook on amazing G+?
+Paul Spoerry FB Purity is well updated
I loaded it, but then the layout of the options seemed a little overwhelming (to be fair I was in the middle of work… I just deactivated it for the moment and will come back to it when I have more time).
Most of what you'll want is on the first screen…set your timeline to most recent and check the parts of the page you want hidden. In fact a lot of it is set by default.

I have the same issue with the annotations on/off option on YouTube. It keeps changing to on. I only want them on when I need them, because quite frankly…….they're mostly annoying. However, YouTube seems to think that I've mistakenly turned it off. ¬_¬
