I use to be there. That is untill i hit on the cure. My doctor got me on 2 meds that made it as if I had no issue with spring alageries (the first year spring came around when I had this protection, it actually felt as if somthing was amiss). I take fexofenadine (Allegra) and fluticasone propionate (Flonase). The beauty is that both are now OTC medications (and you can get them in both product name and generic form).

I use Zyrtec (I tried Allegra years ago when it was prescription) and have tried Flonase but I'm one of the rare people who had adverse effects from it. I KNOW that the nasal sprays are the most effective (aside from Benadryl but it has that nasty sleepiness side-effect). I've actually tried it several times to be sure but every time I use it I have the side effects. I use Singulaire and it helps but spring allergies have been brutal the past few years.

I feel for you man…..Sorry that you can't use the real effictive stuff. It's like not having allergies at all. I think I might have built up a natural defense from useing the two meds for several years. I haven't used either yet this year and have not had any problems yet (and this is from someone who had to stay in an air filtered room at the hight of spring time).
Did you ever try de-sensitivity shots? They did absolute crap for me, but that was 20 years ago, maybe they have gotten better.

Like the allergy shots +West Kagle? My sister did them when she was younger and I don't think they did much good.
And yeah… I stay indoors when possible. I mow the lawn with one of those masks like Michael Jackson and the Chinese wear.

Yes, the shots…..and yes, they did nothing for me. Allergies did benifit me in one way when I was a kid. They were so bad, I was not allowed to mow the grass. You should have seen the crestfallen look on my fathers face when the doctor told him. He had been waiting forever for his oldest son to be old enough to take that job from him.

I'm allergic to grass +West Kagle … dad still had me mowing the lawn!

Doh…….that's harsh.

Shots work for me but they're a pain in the ass going weekly.

Yup….another reason the shots bit (at least for me since they also failed to acheive anything).
