what the f is competent gun control?
Simple things like delay suspected terrorists from getting a gun for up to 72 hours, or denying people on a federal terrorism watch list the ability to purchase guns. Both of which Republicans in the Senate just shot down because…. 'Merica.

who determines what a suspected terrorist is? BHO? The new AG? I don't think so. Sure if your on a federal list sure, but it's never so simple… what else was in the bill that got turned off?
Do you think I'm your personal fucking research assistant? Check the links… google some shit… or I dunno.. think for yourself for a change.
FO d00d… it was a general question, there is no such thing a a bill that does one thing, so saying they said no to a bill because of this one thing is never right…but that doesn't fit your narrative so whatever… I hope you don't own any guns! Not stable there buddy…maybe you should be on the list!
My narrative huh… lol… like I said, I'm not your fucking secretary. I linked to my post that plainly said, "Senate Republicans block two gun control measures and…". I never once said it was a single bill. In fact, following your logic it couldn't have been "a bill" as I mentioned multiple things. So no… it wasn't "a bill" designed to do that. They were parts of the “Restoring Americans’ Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act of 2015".
Considering you're feed is still touting images proclaiming that Obama is a foreigner it's pretty clear to see which of us is following a "narrative".
I am dying to see the new Star Wars movie.
…..but if JJ tried this, I'd tell him to shove the film canisters up is liberal/progressive, constitution hating arse.
"competent gun control" isn't liberal/progressive, constitution hating by any stretch. Nobody has stated, "no guns". It IS ludicrous that I can do a person to person sale in the same state and not have to register the firearm myself… or that if I inherit guns I don't have to register them as mine. That's just a few of the things meant by "competent gun control".
I don't support a national gun registry simply because it's always the prerequisite to gun confiscation.
I also don't have a problem with keeping guns out of the hands of 'bad' people The tricky point here is that the overlords in charge can put anyone they want on the 'bad' person list. All they have to do is say that the entire population is now on the list (see….we didn't ban guns……just keeping them out of the hands of troublesome individuals, and since we now know where every gun is, thanks to the wonderful federal registry, we will be coming around to ensure that everyone is in compliance with the restricted list….no we're not 'confiscating', we're just enforcing the current laws).
That said, person to person sales and inheritance of guns is problematic, at best, since it would by pass any attempt at background checks (which is already a thing where I live [the checks that is],as it was one of the many, many, many hoops my betters made me jump through).
Eh… I dunno. Seems overly dramatic. We have an auto registry… I don't see any mass confiscations of vehicles by the government. You have to license and prove you know how to drive a car (at least once) before being allowed to use one… cuz not knowing how to use one properly can, much like a firearm, kill somebody.

That's because they aren't interested in banning cars. You ask any hard core gun restrictor in government (and as long as they know you're on their side and won't quote them in the media ) they will tell you that the current attempts at gun control is just a foot in the door first step, and that the ultimate goal is the abolition of gun ownership.
I'm also and a big advocate for classes to learn how to use your weapon (and maintain it properly), because nothing will kill you faster than your own gun after you screwed up
a confrontation with a criminal thug, who now has taken your gun off you and shoots you in you're incompetent arse.

And yeah… gun safety is a big thing. I think a primary reason other countries that have more firearms than us is compulsory military time. They're more trained on weapon use.

If I'm not mistaken, that pair of bat-shite crazy reprobates, Dianne Feinstein and Nancy Pelosi, have both said it publicly (they both seem to be of the new breed that doesn't feel the need to mask their intentions as they truly believe "there isn't a damm thing the public can do about it even if they could comprehend what we're doing". They have that much contempt for us knuckle-dragging serfs.
What you say holds true, still, service or no, I think there is absolutely no reason that someone doesn't invest the time to learn the skills to make the most of the tool that is suppose to be there to save your bacon.
