Leaked render shows off the Android powered BlackBerry Venice

July 3, 2015 by Paul Spoerry 5 Comments

Soooo it's made by Blackberry but it's going to run Google Android, and apparently they worked with Google because those are Google services pre-installed. But um… Blackberry… your strength was your keyboard and that's missing so how is this better?

Big speakers. They need to change if they want to stay afloat.

It would be cool though if it flipped or slid open and did, in fact, have a keyboard.

+Thomas Wrobel those were always my favorite style of phones and I would probably buy a BB is if did that.

Indeed. Its just a good use of space. Sure, the phone gets thicker, but you get twice the usable area. The screen doesn't have to be blocked by a virtual keyboard, and the keyboard can take up more space then a virtual one.
It does annoy me a bit the market seems to heavily geared towards making phones look as pretty as possible…..when your not using the things.

I think it makes sense for the manufacturers to NOT want to make keyboards. Less moving parts, lower construction costs. etc. But man I MISS having a keyboard for all the reasons you stated as advantages +Thomas Wrobel and also because Swiftkey/Swype/etc are still not as accurate as me banging on physical keys.
