Microsoft Edge is already good enough to drop Chrome?

Microsoft Edge is already good enough for me to drop Chrome
From the tarnished ashes of Internet Explorer came Microsoft Edge, an all-new browser built from the ground up for Windows 10. When we first went hands-on with the browser – then still …

Not in the build I've been playing with… clearly they've made some progress but there is no way it's good enough to be my daily driver just yet.

It's garbage. It's not Chrome. I played with it. When Windows 10 wasn't dropping its network stack for no reason requiring a reboot.

I haven't had any networking issues with 10 in general +Scott Wilson but yeah… so far Edge isn't up to the task for replacing Chrome for me.

I'm not sure what the issue is, but I haven't held it against them. It is a beta. It's probably just an issue with the cheap realtek chipset.

I've got it running on an older Macbook Pro and I'm pretty pleased with 10. There are some nice touches and it really feels like Win7 + the good parts of Win8 === 10.

It's ok. I like it better than any previous windows version, but it's still windows. There are those little annoying things about the UI, and where they choose to bury settings.

Maybe it's because I've always been on Windows, have done Windows development, etc… but I find the UI to be way better than other OS's (OSX annoys the crap out of me).

Oh, OSX is annoying. Im partial to XFCE currently. At least the way I have it configured.

For most people having no extensions means it's not a replacement.

I was trying it out too last week. Its certainly better then whats come before, but its no chrome. Windows10 itself though, is fantastic.

What is slowly replacing chrome for me though is Vivaldi. Still got a way to go, but I find myself using it more and more.

Yeah I tried Vivaldi and while promising it's still very alpha. I agree on Win10. While there's still some bugs to squash it's looking pretty awesome.
