The US Senate just voted to block gun control, defund Planned Parenthood, and gut Obamacare
It was a busy night on Capitol Hill.
W…T…F…? One of the clauses voted down would have delayed suspected terrorists from getting a gun for as long as 72 hours. It was proposed by a Republican (John Cornyn from Texas) but still voted down. Another, proposed by Dianne Feinstein, a Democratic California, "would deny people on a federal terrorism watch list the ability to purchase guns". Also shot down.
So… killing babies is bad? Killing people is… OK? Don't allow refugees in because, despite the US having one of the most difficult refugee programs to move through, one might be a terrorist… but if you're on the federal terrorism watch list you can still get a gun no problems?!
I have no problem defunding both.
…..but if the gun law is just that there is a federal background check, I'm a little lost on what's the problem. (unless it's with the criteria that would disqualify one from gun ownership. I'm mean there needs to be clear, precise, legitimate, and reasonable stipulations to deprive a person of an eternal right.)
Eternal right? I don't think god cares about guns. But the reality is that they'll oppose it JUST BECAUSE it has <something> to do with guns. They literally opposed preventing someone on the federal terrorist watchlist from getting a firearm without waiting. That's retarded.

It's why I didn't say 'god give', because I don't believe there is a god. (and not that he doesn't care). I wanted to make clear that the Government (and by proxy, the Bill of rights), doesn't give me any of the rights listed. It is just a list of rights that have been mine from the beginning of time and rights that no one is allowed to infringe upon.
