Supreme Court keeps Obamacare intact for millions of Americans

Supreme Court keeps Obamacare intact for millions of Americans
The Supreme Court has upheld the nationwide tax subsidies under the health care overhaul, preserving health insurance for millions of Americans.

"Congress passed the Affordable Care Act to improve health insurance markets, not to destroy them," Roberts wrote in the majority opinion.

Of course Scalia dissented. I mean OF COURSE he did.

    Yeah……don't take my ca………..
…..wait. The ACA did absolutely zilch for getting me access to health insurance. In fact , I now owe the government money via the individual mandate, since I can't afford the 'affordable care act' insurance. ¬_¬

+West Kagle but doesn't it make you feel good knowing that your high premiums help pay for other peoples insurance under SCROTUScare?

    I suppose it might…….if I had premiums. Since I don't have health insurance………..well.

Yeah… fuck those poor people who need health insurance too. I mean they're poor why would they ever need to go to the hospital or the doctor?!

My premiums doubled… and that's bullshit. But you know what… my premiums have been going up year and year ever since I've been working. To toss the blame on those in need of coverage instead of acknowledging the real problem of the wealth gap in this country is childish and makes me sad for you.

There are many examples of good universal health care systems. Why did we have to get stuck with the worst? Ever wonder why the price of health insurance stocks have shot up after this decision?

Agreed… the version we have now was is the watered down version of what was initially proposed. So now instead of being like most other Western industrial nations with universal health care we'll sit around and complain about our premiums. Rightly so, mine doubled but I also don't think it's right to create a system where we place peoples health on such a low rung of societal priorities. I mean… for heavens sake don't touch those tax breaks for the wealth (cuz clearly trickle down works), don't build one less bomber, don't impose actual financial penalties to the banks that nearly bankrupt the world… let's instead focus on how poor people are causing our premiums to go up. Fucking poor people being poor… how dare they.

+Paul Spoerry So it's OK with you that people like +West Kagle can no longer afford health insurance? After all, he is not poor so fuck him?

With the insanely high deductibles, how can a poor person afford to even use this wonderful SCROTUScare?

No it's not OK (and also, I've ALWAYS had insanely high deductibles even prior to the ACA so I'm not sure what point you're making).

We need universal health care but this is the best we could get given the current political climate. Again, you're being so myopic as to view the issue as the ACA when there are much larger systemic issues. Perhaps you should spend less time getting cliche words from Faux News anchors (SCROTUScare… really?! Are we in 3rd grade?) and take a look at the larger issues playing out that have caused the economic divide that's creating an environment where people cannot afford health care in the first place.

I have looked at the issues that are causing the economic divide. SCROTUScare is one of them. It furthers enriches big money at the expense of the rest of us. If you can't see that, I have a collection of world-famous bridges you might be interested in.

As far as your other accusation (rant) about "Faux News" I live in Costa Rica and do not have access to it.
