What's really needed is a "stop listening for every fucking event Android has so that you stop chewing thru battery and performance" function. My Nvidia Shield K1 was nearly unusable… then I saw the articles about Facebook, uninstalled Facebook and Messenger and the fucker FLIES. I wouldn't have believed it had I not tried it myself…

    Is that a screenshot of the actual FB app? Did they really say smaller then usual?

    The battery drain is what stopped me from using it, I switched to an app called "Metal" a long time ago. Whilst not as feature rich, battery life is more important to me than the latest cat meme and "look at me" photos.

    +Ronnie Boadi According to the linked article it is… I hadn't caught the "then" when I first looked.

    +Paul Snedden I use Metal as well. Though a lot of what it offers you can even get if you let mobile Chrome handle notifications. But I'm with you on battery life and… I cannot underscore the performance difference it made on my tablet. A GAMING tablet no less… I was floored.
