Lexus covered a car with 41,999 LEDs

December 6, 2016 by Paul Spoerry 3 Comments

According to Lexus, the car features three different modes:"Attract mode features a loop of colorful graphics that highlight the strong lines of the IS and play into its bold styling. Music Viz mode is designed to respond to music, as the LEDs will create custom, responsive displays that perfectly sync to any song. Gesture mode allows the motion of the LED animations to be controlled by users’ hand movements with the help of a gaming console. This mode directly connects the car and the driver, allowing the person to send a signal and see the car respond."

Is there a way to led back in the front bumper? I hate the new redesign, great for Lexus when you hit something at 5mph and need 4 pieces replaced instead of 1.

Speaking of expensive, if you thought car repair prices were high before, oh boy. Yeah, that's going to be 10 grand to fix that ding in your door. We have to rerun 200 ft of led wire and replace a few bulbs.

Isn't that the case with ANY auto replacement? Bust out your front light casing and the dealership replies, "Aw snap! that'll be $400 please."

According to some James Bond film writers, it should be able to turn invisible now.
