Explained… WITH CHARTS!
This is actually something that comes up from time to time where people who know me can't fathom that I'd claim the atheist camp (others might respond, "Paul? Oh hell yeah he is an atheist!"). I'm certainly not a theist; but I wouldn't say I'm an anti-theist. If god were to (I mean this literally and not figuratively/requiring belief) appear and make him/her/it-self known I would believe. To be fair… most religions would say unless I wanted something super horrible to happen I'd have to do so.
I used to flatly say I was agnostic. However, I tend to think the term agnostic has been kinda perverted to be this "I can't make up my mind"/sitting on the fence thought pattern. I've been guilty of it myself at times even though that's not what it means. When you break down what the terms mean, as well as the varying grey scales that accompany anything along a topic like this you get a greater appreciation for all sides. Oh… and yes… you CAN be a theist and agnostic. Seriously, +CosmicSkeptic has charts!
