Imperial March Goes Synthwave

May 10, 2018 by Paul Spoerry 3 Comments

Synthwave duo Litiowave envisions what John Williams’ Imperial March (aka Darth Vader’s Theme) might have sounded like if it came out in the early 1980s rather than in 1977, giving the track a new neon-lit electronic sound.

The original is of course iconic… but I still think it's kinda dope.

Actually George Lucas wanted it to be synth music because it was "the sound of the future" but John Williams told him classical is more epic and timeless. Although I'm unable to find a reference after a quick Googling.
