Facebook wants to incorporate your banking info into Messenger
Facebook might add your banking info to Messenger
It has reportedly been in talks with several major US banks.
Oh yeah… the company that has been leaking user data like a sieve wants to tie in banking info. This will end well.
Koch-backed study finds ‘Medicare for All’ would save U.S. government trillions
Bernie Sanders’s $32 trillion Medicare-for-all plan is actually kind of a bargain
The federal government would spend a lot more money on health care, but overall US health spending would be about the same as otherwise projected.
A single-payer Medicare for All system would reduce the amount the U.S. spends on health care by more than $2 trillion, a Koch brothers-funded study released Monday found.
I know that the only thing a lot of people hear during discussions about Medicare for All, or Single Payer, or any other government healthcare program is that their taxes will increase.
But for some reason, the same people never seem to hear the part about how you won't have to pay insurance premiums anymore.
You won't have to pay deductibles.
You won't have to pay copays.
There won't be some middleman trying to make a profit between your payment to the hospital. Instead, your tax dollars will go directly to the hospital.
You won't have to pay the emergency room costs for people who had easily-preventable conditions.
The expanded risk pool will lower the overall costs for everyone.
We.would.save.money. and, perhaps more critically (at least those who think we should all be well, not just the wealthy – which is where we're headed) everyone would be covered.
Do NOT use the Verizon VPN app
Verizon VPN app protects against shady public WiFi
Verizon is jumping into the VPN game with an app to protect you against sketchier WiFi hotspots — at least, if you’re willing to pay.
Verizon has released an app they call 'Safe Wi-Fi' that uses the encryption of a VPN to protect you against dodgy WiFi hotspots and blocks some ads.
But read the fine print https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/safe-wifi-legal/. Oh wait… that's not the fine print because this is just some rebranded McAfee product So you have to go here: https://www.mcafee.com/enterprise/en-us/about/legal/privacy.html
This "VPN" does all sorts of logging, ties in third-party services to know more about you, and sell your information to third-parties. So it might protect you from your coffeehouse WiFi but Verizon/McAfee are still hoovering up your data and selling it.
A little pricey but a consistently highly rated VPN that doesn't log you is ExpressVPN: https://www.expressvpn.com/ (or if you'd like to use my referral link: https://www.expressrefer.com/refer-friend?referrer_id=14802789&utm_campaign=referrals&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=referral_dashboard)
If you need a free service (you can get free upgrades by tweeting at them each month) TunnelBear will do in a pinch and is super easy to use. https://www.tunnelbear.com/
White House Transcript Omits Critical Question From Trump-Putin Press Conference Video
Trump White House cuts Putin support for Trump out of transcript
Rachel Maddow shows how the White House transcript and video of the Trump Putin press conference in Helsinki has been edited to remove the question asking Putin if he wanted Trump to win the election, part of a broader campaign of information warfare the Trump administration is waging with Russia against the American people.
Woah… this needs to be shared everywhere. During the press conference in Helsinki, Reuters reporter Jeff Mason asked Putin the question, “Did you want President Trump to win the election and did you direct any of your officials to help him do that?” He answered, “Yes, I did. Yes, I did. Because he talked about bringing the U.S.-Russia relationship back to normal.”
Fine. Fine. Here's the thing. The official White House transcript omits the first part of the question, “Did you want President Trump to win the election…" So… maybe that was a mistake…
The official White House VIDEO has been edited to remove that question as well. The Kremlin’s official transcripts removed the entire question and Putin's response altogether.
To recap:
1) The White House cut the question from the transcript
2) The White House edited the video itself
3) The Kremlin omits the entire question/answer
4) Trump declared that Putin is pushing for Democrats and "definitely" not him.
